NEXT BIG NASHVILE & LEADERSHIP MUSIC DIGITAL SUMMIT
KICKS OFF FIFTH YEAR ON SEPTEMBER 29 IN MUSIC CITY

ARTIST KEYNOTE INTERVIEW WITH
CALEB FOLLOWILL OF KINGS OF LEON ANNOUNCED

RIAA CHAIRMAN TO MODERATE HEATED FACE-OFF ON NET NEUTRALITY FEATURING KEY PLAYERS

Nashville, TN – Entering their fifth year, Next BIG Nashville (NBN) and the Leadership Music Digital Summit (LMDS) proudly launch their newly merged festival and conference on September 28 in Nashville, TN. The event will run through October 2 and will feature a four-day multi-genre music festival with a two-day digital conference featuring key industry leaders and innovators.

NBN & LMDS have just announced this year’s Artist Keynote Interview featuring Caleb Followill, lead singer of the Kings Of Leon. The Kings of Leon are gearing up for the release of their new album Come Around Sundown (RCA) the highly-anticipated follow up to their 2008 album Only By The Night (RCA), which sold more than 6.5 million copies worldwide. The Artist Keynote will take place on Thursday, September 30th at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University at 4:30 pm.

Also on September 30th, the Summit will address the issue of Net Neutrality in a conversation entitled, "Pipes, Capitalism, and Creativity: Is Middle East Peace Easier?", moderated by Mitch Bainwol, Chairman/CEO of the RIAA. Can free culture and free enterprise coexist on the Net? Will the Google/Verizon net neutrality framework be the compromise that ultimately becomes law? How does net neutrality intersect with the rights of musicians to earn a return on their work in a digital world?

In this exclusive face-off, key players from every conceivable side (ISP's, Content Providers, Creatives, Public Interest Groups...) of the debate come together in what promises to be a lively and provocative exchange on the issue of a "free" internet vs. freedom through corporate control. The panel features Christian Castle, Managing Partner, Christian L. Castle, Attorneys; Jim DeLong, Visiting Fellow, DigitalSociety.org; Mike McKeehan, Verizon; Julie Samuels, Staff Attorney, Electronic Freedom Foundation; Derek Slater, Senior Policy Analyst, Google Inc.; and Alex Curtis, Public Knowledge.
